Lake Hévíz

Lake Hévíz is a natural thermal lake fed by underground springs that keep the water warm year-round. A wooden walkway and dock structure extends out over the water, providing access points for swimmers and bathers throughout the lake.

The area around the lake was already settled during Roman times, as shown by archaeological discoveries of dwellings and objects in the region. The thermal waters themselves became recognized as a place for healing and bathing in later periods.

The lake draws visitors who have long come here to soak in the naturally warm water for relaxation and recovery. Local communities have built traditions around bathing in these waters as part of their wellness routines.

The lake has changing rooms and entry points positioned around the water to help visitors get in easily. It works well to arrive early in the day, especially on warm days, since the bathing areas attract many people.

The lake's entire water volume gets completely refreshed every 72 hours by powerful underground springs, meaning fresh warm water continuously flows in. This constant renewal creates a self-cleaning system that keeps the water in stable condition year-round.
