Castle Bazaar, Neo-Renaissance cultural complex at Castle Hill, Budapest, Hungary
The Castle Garden Bazaar extends along the Danube River with ornate staircases, arcades, and decorative elements designed by architect Miklós Ybl in 1875.
Following its construction between 1875 and 1883, the Castle Garden Bazaar connected the Royal Palace to the city through gardens, fountains, and commercial spaces.
The complex presents art exhibitions in the Northern Guards Palace and Southern Palaces, alongside regular concerts, outdoor cinema screenings, and community gatherings.
Visitors access the Castle Garden Bazaar through escalators from the Danube promenade, with opening hours from 6:00 AM to midnight throughout the week.
During renovation works in 2014, workers discovered a 13th-century Jewish ritual bath, known as Mikveh, beneath the Castle Garden Bazaar structures.
