Solomon's Pillars, Natural rock formation in Timna Valley, Israel.

The sandstone cliffs rise vertically from the desert floor, forming three massive red columns that extend over 50 meters into the bright blue sky.

Archaeological evidence reveals extensive copper mining operations at the site from the 5th millennium BCE through ancient Egyptian and subsequent civilizations.

The adjacent Egyptian temple, dedicated to mining goddess Hathor, contains wall engravings depicting King Ramses III making ceremonial offerings.

The hiking trails around Solomon's Pillars connect to a network of paths throughout Timna Park, located 25 kilometers north of Eilat.

Water erosion through the centuries has carved natural staircases into the rock faces, allowing visitors to climb partway up the formations.
