Akkanna Madanna Temple, Hindu temple at Shah-Ali-Banda, Hyderabad, India.

The Akkanna Madanna Temple is a Hindu shrine located in Shah-Ali-Banda, Hyderabad, featuring stone walls carved with images of deities and religious narratives. The structure includes a main prayer hall and smaller associated shrines that serve devotees during worship and ceremonial occasions.

The temple was founded in the 17th century by two brothers who served as ministers in the Golconda court and performed prayers each morning before attending to royal duties. After a long period of decline, the site was revived and has since resumed its role as a place of worship for the community.

The temple holds a central place during Bonalu festival when devotees join the Ghatam procession moving through Hyderabad and Secunderabad streets. This annual gathering brings the community together to honor the goddesses with music, dancing, and traditional offerings.

The temple sits about one kilometer from Charminar and welcomes visitors year-round with regular ceremonies conducted at specific times of day. It helps to check local prayer schedules and wear appropriate clothing to show respect for the customs and practices observed at this religious site.

This shrine faded from public awareness and lay in ruins at Hari Bowli in Shah Ali Banda before being brought back to life. The revival of the space demonstrates how communities can restore lost religious centers to serve their spiritual needs once again.
