Sardar Mahal

Sardar Mahal is a palace in Hyderabad that blends European architectural details with Indian design traditions. The building displays intricate carved stonework across its exterior and is protected as a Grade II heritage structure.

The palace was constructed in 1900 for the wife of Nizam VI as a royal residence, yet she declined to live in it after one visit. Following this rejection, the structure remained unoccupied until municipal authorities acquired it in 1965.

The palace stands near Charminar, Hyderabad's most recognizable monument, and the two structures shape how visitors experience this part of the old city. Walking between them, you encounter layers of Hyderabad's past side by side.
