Aza Khana-e-Zohra, Religious monument in Darulshifa, India
The hall of Aza Khana-e-Zohra extends across 4,500 square yards with a 45-foot teak ceiling constructed without supporting pillars throughout its span.
The last Nizam of Hyderabad, Mir Osman Ali Khan, commissioned this structure in the 1930s to honor his mother Amtul Zehra Begum after her passing.
The building serves as a gathering space during Muharram, where thousands of people join to commemorate the martyrdom of Imam Hussain through ceremonies.
The interior space contains three main sections with two courtyards and can hold up to 25,000 people during religious gatherings and events.
The walls display intricate calligraphy featuring verses from the Quran and sayings about Muhammad's family, complemented by gold alams adorned with precious stones.
