Baner Hill, Mountain summit in Baner, Maharashtra, India.
Baner Hill is a summit in the Baner neighborhood of Pune, Maharashtra, rising to around 676 meters with several trails crossing natural terrain. From the top, there are open views over the Pashan and Baner suburbs and the landscape beyond.
The hill long served as a natural boundary between neighborhoods before Pune's urban growth gradually surrounded it. It is now recognized as the third highest point within the city limits of Pune.
A small temple sits at the northern base of the hill and draws people from nearby neighborhoods who come to spend time outdoors. The spot feels like a natural meeting point between daily urban life and open green space.
The trails suit different levels of fitness, and refreshments are available near the main entrance. Going early in the morning or late in the afternoon helps avoid the heat and means the paths are less busy.
Local volunteers regularly organize tree planting drives on the hill to keep green spaces alive within the city. Visitors walking the trails pass through patches of woodland that exist largely because of these community efforts.
