Kari Motor Speedway, motorsport race track in India

Kari Motor Speedway is a purpose-built Formula Three circuit at Chettipalayam near Coimbatore, 2.100 km long and inaugurated in 2003. Its asphalt track curves past low vegetation and tall trees, and the circuit is named after S. Karivardhan, who designed and built entry-level race cars.

Part of the site served as a runway for power gliders built by S. Karivardhan's ultralight aviation company, and in the late 1990s the stretch hosted drag racing. Former racer B. Vijay Kumar bought the land in 2002 to hold national motorsport events, and the track opened in 2003, named after Karivardhan, who designed and built entry-level race cars.

The circuit sits in Chettipalayam on the outskirts of Coimbatore, and its 2.1 km layout is used for karting, motorcycle road racing and formula events, so what you can watch depends on the calendar. Karting and racing schools and vehicle tests also occupy the track, so confirm the day's programme before travelling.
