Bhimbandh Wildlife Sanctuary

Bhimbandh Wildlife Sanctuary is a protected area in the Jamui and Khadakpur hills of Bihar, home to tigers, leopards, bears, and hundreds of bird species across different habitats. The terrain features rolling hills and forests with varying elevations that create diverse ecological zones.

The sanctuary was established in 1976 by the Indian government and marked an important milestone for conservation in eastern India. This designation helped protect the region's threatened wildlife populations and their natural habitats.

Natural hot springs emerge at various locations throughout the sanctuary grounds, creating specialized microclimates where unique plant and animal communities thrive. These thermal zones form distinct ecosystems with their own adapted species.
