Bhavaniswar Mandir, Hindu temple in Baranagar, India
The Bhavaniswar Mandir rises 18 meters high with an inverted lotus dome and features a circular corridor surrounding the inner sanctum.
The temple was built in 1755 by Tarasundari, daughter of Rani Bhabani, who managed the Natore zamindari after becoming a widow at age 32.
The temple displays detailed human figures on its outer facade while the inner sanctum contains intricate floral patterns representing traditional Indian artistry.
Located at coordinates 24°15'10″N 88°14′36″E, visitors can reach the temple by taking country boats between Ajimganj and Baranagar in Murshidabad district.
This structure stands as the tallest lime and mortar temple in Baranagar, part of Rani Bhabani's vision to construct 108 temples along the Ganges.
