Andhra Pradesh High Court, Appellate court in Amaravati, India.
The court occupies a three-level complex in the Nelapadu district built specifically to serve the judicial needs of the newly reorganized state. The facility houses multiple courtrooms alongside administrative chambers under a single roof.
The court began operations in January 2019 after the state reorganization act passed in 2014 established the need for a separate judicial institution. It replaced earlier temporary locations in Guntur and Hyderabad used during the transition period.
The court maintains 37 judge positions, with 28 permanent appointments and 9 additional judges, ensuring judicial representation for the entire state.
The building sits in the Nelapadu district of Amaravati and is accessible via the region's main roads. Visitors should dress formally and expect to pass through security checks before entering the premises.
The digital technology in the courtrooms allows proceedings to run without paper files and makes it easier for all parties to access documents during hearings. This technological setup was part of the building's design from the beginning.
