Province of Enna

The province of Enna extends across 2,574 square kilometers of inland territory, making it the only landlocked province in Sicily.

Established in 1927 through the merger of territories from Caltanisetta and Catania provinces, with Enna selected as the capital over Piazza Armerina.

The twenty municipalities of the province maintain traditional Sicilian festivals, including the Good Friday procession in Enna and the Palio dei Normanni in Piazza Armerina.

The province connects to major Sicilian cities through a network of roads, with the A19 motorway linking Palermo to Catania through the territory.

Lake Pergusa forms a natural reserve within the province, providing habitat for numerous migratory birds and containing an international racing circuit around its perimeter.
