Province of Nuoro

The province of Nuoro extends across 5,638 square kilometers of central-eastern Sardinia, containing 74 municipalities and mountain territories with diverse natural landscapes.

The province was established in 1927 through the division of territories from Cagliari and Sassari provinces, with later modifications in 2005 and 2016.

The National Archaeological Museum in Nuoro showcases artifacts from prehistoric settlements, including ceramics from the Ozieri culture dating back to 3500 BC.

The province maintains a network of mountain roads connecting communities, with public transportation services linking major towns to other regions of Sardinia.
