Cilento, Vallo di Diano and Alburni National Park

The park spans 181,000 hectares from the Tyrrhenian Sea to the Campania-Lucan Apennines, featuring coastlines, caves, karst formations, and Mediterranean vegetation.

The area received national park designation in 1991 and became a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1998, including the ancient Greek settlements of Paestum and Velia.

The region maintains traditional practices of the Mediterranean diet, producing local specialties such as buffalo mozzarella, white figs, and Cicerale chickpeas.

Visitors access numerous hiking trails throughout the park, with accommodations available in surrounding towns and various eco-sustainable lodging options.

The park harbors 1,800 plant species, including the rare Primula palinuri, and provides habitat for golden eagles, peregrine falcons, and Mediterranean wolves.
