Parco regionale delle Orobie Bergamasche is a protected mountain area covering roughly 70,000 hectares across the Bergamo province in Lombardy. The landscape includes deep valleys, forested slopes, and rocky ridges that form the backbone of the Orobische Alps, with the tallest peaks rising above 3,000 meters.

The park was established in 1989 when regional authorities created this protected area to conserve the alpine environment and its wildlife. This decision marked an important step in safeguarding the mountain landscape from intensive development.

The territory encompasses 44 municipalities within three mountain communities, where residents maintain traditional practices of summer grazing and dairy production in alpine pastures.

The park features a network of marked hiking trails suitable for various fitness levels, ranging from easy valley walks to steep mountain routes. Check local conditions before visiting, as mountain weather can change quickly and snow may block higher routes in winter and spring.
