The museum occupies about 1,500 square meters (16,000 square feet) and displays two halls with over 100 pinball machines and around 200 arcade cabinets spanning different decades. Beyond these, the space also houses more than 400 consoles, personal computers, and handheld gaming devices from North America, South America, the United Kingdom, and Europe.
The museum opened in June 2021, a date that marked 50 years since Computer Space, the first commercial arcade video game by Nutting Associates. The collection focuses on the early development of electronic entertainment and the various systems that shaped this field.
The collection displays gaming machines and consoles from around the world across different eras, showing how people in various places enjoyed electronic entertainment. These objects tell a story about leisure habits and how playing has changed over time.
The museum is located at Via Sandro Pertini 105 and is easy to navigate, as each item is marked with QR codes for information. A restoration laboratory on-site also demonstrates how the staff maintains and repairs these historical machines.
The museum houses a pinball machine from 1968, among the oldest in existence, along with original arcade games like Jet Rocket from 1970. These machines can actually be played, allowing visitors to experience early gaming firsthand.
