Hirakata, Core city in Osaka Prefecture, Japan
Hirakata extends between the Yodo River and Ikoma Mountains, occupying 65 square kilometers of northeastern Osaka Prefecture with a population of 397,681 residents.
The city gained importance during the Edo period as a strategic post station and river port connecting Kyoto to Osaka between 1603 and 1867.
Multiple universities, including Kansai Gaidai University and Kansai Medical University, establish Hirakata as an educational center in the Kansai region of Japan.
The city provides excellent transportation links through JR West and Keihan Electric Railway services, connecting residents to both Osaka and Kyoto metropolitan areas.
