Miyagino-ku

Miyagino-ku extends across 58 square kilometers in northeastern Sendai, featuring residential neighborhoods, commercial areas, and natural spaces along the Pacific Ocean coastline.

The region originated as part of Mutsu Province, inhabited by Emishi people, and later developed under the control of the Date clan during the Edo period.

The ward maintains traditional Japanese community values through seasonal festivals, neighborhood gatherings, and local events that connect residents throughout the year.
