Fukuchi is a small town in the Tagawa district of Fukuoka Prefecture, located in the hilly terrain of northern Kyushu. The area features wooded hills, scattered residential neighborhoods, and the quiet character of a former mining community.
The area served as an active coal mining hub for decades, bringing economic activity to this remote region. As mining declined in the latter part of the 20th century, the town transitioned to its current quieter state.
