Asan

Asan is an industrial and residential city in South Chungcheong Province that spreads across plains and low mountains. The urban layout combines factory zones with housing areas in a mixed landscape.

The city was formed in 1995 when Onyang and Asan County merged to create a unified administrative entity. This consolidation shaped the modern identity of the area.

The Yi Sun-sin Stadium functions as a gathering place for sports events and is home to the professional women's basketball team Asan Woori Bank Woori Won. These venues anchor the local community and draw residents together throughout the year.

The KTX high-speed rail station, shared with Cheonan, connects the city to Seoul in about 30 minutes. This makes day trips and regular commuting to the capital straightforward.

The Blue Crystal Village in Tangjeong-myeon district features Mediterranean-style buildings set within an industrial landscape. This European aesthetic offers an unexpected contrast to the surrounding factory zones.
