Japanese General Government Building, former building (1926–1996) in Seoul, housing the colonial government of Korea
The Japanese General Government Building was a neoclassical government structure in Jongno District, Seoul. It featured a symmetrical design with classical architectural elements and served as a large administrative building organized across multiple floors.
The building was constructed during Japan's occupation of Korea and served as the administrative center for the Japanese Governor-General. Following Korea's liberation in 1945, it was initially used by military authorities before eventually being demolished.
Since the building no longer exists, visitors can only view the site where it once stood, now left as an open space. The location is centrally situated in Seoul and remains accessible by public transportation.
