Dream Tower, Megatall skyscraper project in Yongsan District, South Korea
Dream Tower was a planned skyscraper about 665 meters tall with 136 floors meant to rise in Yongsan. The building was designed to combine apartments, shops, and leisure facilities in one complex.
Preparations for the project began in 2010 with demolition work on the site. The entire project was halted in 2013 due to financial difficulties.
The design came from an internationally recognized architect and was meant to shape Seoul's modern style. It was part of a larger development plan for the business district that aimed to modernize the city.
The site sits in a central business area of Seoul with good access via public transport. The area is easy to reach and well connected to other neighborhoods.
After demolition work began, the project was abandoned, leaving the site as empty land visible in the city for years. Many people in the area still recall the ambitious plans that never came to fruition.
