Angammedilla National Park, National park in North Central Province, Sri Lanka
The park spans 7,528 hectares of dry evergreen forests, featuring mountains, plains, and the Amban River along its southern border.
Established in 2006, this area originated as part of the Minneriya-Girithale Sanctuary, declared in February 1988 to protect vital water resources.
A stone canal system, known to locals as the royal wall, represents ancient Sri Lankan engineering by directing water from Amban River to Parakrama Samudra.
Visitors can access the park through designated entry points, where permits are required for activities such as wildlife observation and photography.
The park functions as a protection zone for three major water basins: Parakrama Samudra, Minneriya, and Girithale irrigation tanks.
