Sükhbaatar, Provincial administrative division in eastern Mongolia
Sükhbaatar Province extends across 82,287 square kilometers of eastern Mongolia, featuring grasslands and a network of administrative districts called sums.
The province received its name from Damdin Sükhbaatar, who led Mongolia's revolution for independence in the early twentieth century.
The population of 61,323 residents maintains traditional nomadic practices while adapting to modern administrative and economic systems in the region.
The provincial capital Baruun-Urt connects to Ulaanbaatar through regular flights from its unpaved airport and serves as the central administrative hub.
The province contains the Dariganga sum, where specific administrative structures support local governance and regional development initiatives.
