Chitral Gol National Park

The park spans 7,750 hectares of alpine meadows, glaciers, and valleys beside the Chitral River, with elevations ranging from 1,450 to 5,000 meters.

Until 1983, the territory belonged to the Mehtar of Chitral, leading to legal disputes between the ruler's descendants and Pakistan's government after its establishment.

The Birmoghlasht section contains the former Summer Fort of local rulers, positioned at 2,800 meters to oversee the surrounding territory.

The park requires careful navigation due to narrow access roads, particularly during periods of rain and winter snowfall when conditions become challenging.

The protected area harbors Kashmir Markhor, Siberian ibex, snow leopards, and yellow-throated martens among dense cedar forests and mountain streams.
