Kalasha Dur Museum

The Kalasha Dur Museum is a heritage museum in Bumburet Valley that collects and displays about 1,300 objects from this region. The exhibits include weapons, tools, clothing, jewelry, and musical instruments that reflect the daily life and traditions of the Kalasha community.

The museum was founded in 2005 after local teachers worked with Greek volunteers and international supporters to construct the building. This collaboration made it possible to systematically gather and preserve the objects and stories of the Kalasha people.

The collection reflects how the Kalasha community dresses, creates jewelry, and carries out daily crafts that remain central to their way of life today. These pieces show visitors the hands-on skills and choices that define the people who live in this valley.

The building sits on land with stone walls and traditional architecture, making it easy to spot. It makes sense to ask about current opening times before visiting, since the museum sits in a remote valley.

At the entrance stands a shrine dedicated to Jestak, a local protective deity who holds spiritual importance for the Kalasha. This sacred space shows how religion and everyday life intertwine in this community.
