Udren Zom

Udren Zom is a mountain summit in Upper Chitral District that rises to 7,140 meters and stands among the most prominent peaks of the Hindu Kush range. The peak features steep rocky faces and snow-covered slopes that define the rugged alpine landscape of this high-elevation terrain.

The peak was first documented in 1977 when climbers recorded it photographically from the Kohe Shakhawr ridge. This early expedition helped establish the geographic understanding of this remote high-mountain region.

The mountain lies within a region where local communities maintain traditional practices and share knowledge about navigating these elevated terrains.

Visitors should know that only experienced mountaineers with specialized equipment and permits should attempt an ascent of this peak. The best season for climbing is between June and September when weather conditions are generally more stable.
