Link Sar, Mountain peak in Ghanche District, Pakistan
Link Sar is a mountain peak standing at around 7,041 meters, located between the Charakusa Glacier and Kaberi Glacier in the Masherbrum range of the Karakoram. The terrain features steep, snow-covered slopes and frozen glacier surfaces that define the landscape.
The peak remained unclimbed until August 2019, when a team of four mountaineers reached its summit for the first time. This achievement marked an important moment in the region's climbing history.
The mountain sits within the Gilgit-Baltistan region, where local Balti communities have lived for generations and work as guides for expeditions. Visitors meet people with deep knowledge of the mountains and their routes.
Access requires permits and is typically available during the summer climbing season when weather is more stable. Approach is usually made via the Charakusa Glacier, so expect high-altitude conditions and demanding terrain.
The peak forms part of a natural horseshoe formation connecting K6 and K7, creating a distinct geological structure in the Karakoram. This arrangement makes the area interesting for climbers wanting to explore multiple summits in one expedition.
