Ziarat, Mountain resort town in Balochistan, Pakistan.

The town stands at 2,543 meters above sea level, surrounded by the Khalifat Hills and extensive juniper forests covering 247,000 acres of land.

The British established Ziarat as a sanatorium for European troops from Quetta, constructing the notable Ziarat Residency wooden structure in 1892.

The population consists primarily of Pashtoon communities, including Kakar and Dotani Dummer tribes, with Pashto spoken by 98 percent of residents.

The district contains ten Union Councils that manage local governance, with the town serving as the administrative center for the surrounding region.

The juniper forest of Ziarat contains trees estimated to be between 5000 to 7000 years old, making them among the oldest living organisms in Pakistan.
