Nankana Sahib District, Administrative district in Punjab, Pakistan
Nankana Sahib District spans 2,216 square kilometers in eastern Punjab, positioned 75 kilometers west of Lahore and 53 kilometers east of Faisalabad.
The district emerged from Sheikhupura District in May 2005, marking a new administrative division to strengthen local governance and development initiatives.
The territory includes significant Sikh religious sites, as the district capital Nankana Sahib marks the birthplace of Guru Nanak, founder of Sikhism.
The district divides into three administrative tehsils - Nankana Sahib, Shah Kot, and Sangla Hill - with a combined population of 1,634,871 residents.
The district government plans to establish an international university dedicated to Sikh religion and culture, supported by land donations from local families.
