Lahore Division, Administrative division in Punjab, Pakistan
Lahore Division is an administrative region in Punjab comprising four districts: Lahore, Kasur, Sheikhupura, and Nankana Sahib. Each district operates under its own local governance while contributing to the broader provincial administration and daily life of the region.
Before 1947, the division was part of British colonial administration with larger territorial boundaries. Independence led to territorial changes, resulting in the current structure of four districts within modern-day Pakistani Punjab.
The division houses multiple religious communities, with Muslims representing the majority population, followed by Hindu, Sikh, and Christian communities.
The division consists of 17 administrative tehsils and hundreds of rural villages managed by local authorities. To navigate the region, it helps to use the four main districts as reference points.
The division contains 24 National Assembly electoral constituencies and 52 Provincial Assembly constituencies, making it a significant political center in Punjab.
