Ras Ibn Hani, Archaeological site on Mediterranean coast in Latakia, Syria.

Located 8 kilometers north of Latakia, Ras Ibn Hani extends over 2 hectares of coastal land with remains from multiple historical periods.

The site functioned as a port during the Late Bronze Age, serving the Kingdom of Ugarit and maintaining a population of 8,000 inhabitants by 1300 BCE.

Archaeological excavations revealed a royal complex with a summer palace and the residence of Queen Ahatmilku, indicating the social structures of ancient societies.

The location benefits from natural harbor conditions, which ancient Greek texts referred to as the White Harbor, now known in Arabic as Minet el-Beida.

The site contains a Seleucid fortification built by King Antiochus IX in the southeast corner during the Hellenistic period.
