Manavgat

Manavgat is a municipality in Antalya Province that stretches from the Taurus Mountains to the Mediterranean coast. The area combines fertile lowlands, forested ridges, and a southern coastline with numerous coves and beaches.

The area was once home to ancient cities of Side and Selge before falling under Seljuk rule in the 13th century and later passing to Ottoman control.

Local communities gather at traditional markets to buy regional textiles, handmade crafts, and Mediterranean food products that reflect everyday life here.

The town connects to major Turkish cities through regular intercity buses and offers various lodging choices along the coast. Swimming is most comfortable from May through October when water temperatures are warmest.

The river creates a natural meeting point at its mouth where cool mountain water encounters the warmer sea, forming visibly distinct water zones. Visitors often notice the contrasting colors where both bodies of water merge.
