Demirkazık Peak, Mountain summit in Aladağlar, Turkey.
Demirkazık Peak rises to 3,756 meters in the Taurus Mountains, displaying steep limestone walls with several established climbing routes. Its prominent position in the Aladağ range makes it a commanding feature of this high mountain zone.
The first documented ascent took place in July 1927 when Georg Künne, Wilhelm Martin, Marianne Martin, and two local guides reached the summit. This early achievement marked the beginning of the peak's modern mountaineering history.
The name Demirkazık means 'iron post' in Turkish, reflecting how locals perceive this peak as a landmark that anchors the surrounding mountain region.
Climbers access the peak through Demirkazık village, following paths through either Cimbar Gorge or Arpalik Plateau to reach Tekepinari Camp. The best climbing season runs from May to October, when conditions are most stable and routes are accessible.
The mountain offers year-round climbing with routes ranging from grade IV to VI+, including the challenging North Wall and East Chimney. This range of difficulty levels appeals to climbers of varying experience.
