Changa, restaurant in Istanbul, Turkey
Changa is a restaurant in Istanbul housed in an Art Nouveau building with curved lines and decorative details throughout. The main dining area seats around 90 guests, while a bar accommodates 40 people and a private room upstairs holds up to 30.
The restaurant opened in 1999 after an interior redesign by Avcioglu Architects completed in less than a year. The private upstairs room contains original artwork from 1903 that has been carefully preserved.
The name Changa reflects the fusion approach to food that defines the restaurant's identity. Turkish artworks displayed throughout create a bridge between contemporary dining and local artistic expression.
The restaurant is open daily except Sundays and is located near Taksim Square on Sıraselviler Caddesi. Reservations are available, and visitors can arrange custom menus for special events.
A glass ceiling above the kitchen allows diners to watch chefs prepare meals from above. This rare feature transforms the meal into an interactive experience where cooking becomes part of the dining.
