33 Martyr Memorial

The memorial features a 33-meter flagpole displaying a large Turkish flag measuring 10 square meters, accompanied by individual cenotaphs for each fallen recruit.

On May 24, 2012, this memorial was inaugurated to commemorate 33 unarmed Turkish Army recruits who lost their lives during the 1993 Bingol massacre.

The memorial serves as a place where families gather to honor the memory of military personnel and reflect on the impact of regional conflicts.

Located 13 kilometers west of Bingol city center, the memorial includes information panels that detail the events and circumstances of the 1993 incident.

Each of the 33 cenotaphs stands as an individual tribute, creating a profound visual representation of the military personnel who perished in the attack.
