Hamiye Çolakoğlu Ceramic Museum

The museum exhibits over 120 ceramic artworks spanning from the 1970s to 2000s, showcasing diverse techniques and artistic expressions in purpose-designed exhibition spaces.

Following her death in 2014, Professor Hamiye Çolakoğlu's students collaborated with university officials to transform her collection into Turkey's first ceramic artist museum in 2020.

The museum preserves the artistic legacy of Professor Çolakoğlu, who won a portrait competition in Munich at age 17 and studied ceramics in Florence, Italy.

Located in the Ankara State Conservatory building, the museum maintains regular visiting hours from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, presenting both displayed pieces and stored collections.

The collection includes the piece 'Bombalar Çiçek Açmalı,' created as a response to the Bosnian War, reflecting Professor Çolakoğlu's engagement with social themes.
