100th Anniversary Nature Park, Nature park on Mediterranean coast in Mersin, Turkey
The protected area encompasses 23 hectares of land along the Mediterranean Sea, featuring a 1.8-kilometer sandy beach bordered by Turkish pine and eucalyptus trees.
Originally established as a recreation area in 1977, the site received nature park status in 2011 under the Ministry of Environment and Forest administration.
The name Gümüşkum translates to Silver Sand in Turkish, reflecting the distinctive characteristics of the beach that stretches along the Mediterranean shoreline.
Visitors can access the park via the D.400 highway connecting Mersin to Silifke, with entrance fees varying from 25 Turkish lira for individuals to 750 for buses.
The park hosts a dedicated sea turtle treatment and rehabilitation center, supporting the conservation of loggerhead and green sea turtles that nest on its beaches.
