Niaosong District is an administrative unit in Kaohsiung City comprising seven neighborhoods including Diaosong, Mengli, Dahua, Dipu, Renmei, Dazhu, and Huamei Village. The area contains Cheng Shiu University and surrounds Chengcing Lake, home to a baseball stadium.
The area was once a rural township until 2010 when Kaohsiung County merged with Kaohsiung City and elevated the township to district status. This administrative reform brought modernization and expanded services to the region.
