Mason, Suburban city in Warren County, Ohio
Mason is a city in Warren County, located in southwestern Ohio about 22 miles north of Cincinnati. The community spreads across roughly 19 square miles and features a mix of residential neighborhoods, commercial districts, and green spaces.
William Mason, a veteran of the Revolutionary War, purchased the land in 1803 and laid out 16 lots in 1815, originally calling the settlement Palmyra. The community later took on its current name in honor of its founder.
The Lindner Family Tennis Center draws international players and crowds each year for the Cincinnati Open tournament. The facility has grown into a key venue for local sports, hosting regular tournaments and training sessions throughout the season.
The Mason Community Center offers recreational facilities and programs for visitors and residents of all ages. The city sits along Interstate 71, providing easy access to surrounding areas and downtown Cincinnati.
The WLW-AM radio station built a transmitter tower in Mason in 1928, which became one of the most powerful broadcast facilities in the United States. The station reached listeners across much of North America and shaped the history of American radio.
