Camp Canadensis, Summer camp in Barrett Township, Pennsylvania, United States
Camp Canadensis is a summer camp in the Pocono Mountains with a 75-acre lake, indoor and outdoor ice rinks, and two heated pools. The facility also includes art centers and extensive sports amenities for various activities.
The camp was founded in 1941 by William Saltzman and operated by him until 1997. After that, his children Stevan and later Terri Saltzman took over the leadership.
The place hosts a five-day Color War tradition where teams compete in athletic and artistic events. This event encourages competition and creativity among participants.
The camp is accessible via Interstate 80 West at Exit 309, then take Route 447 North toward Upper Seese Hill Road. Visitors should be prepared for driving through forested areas and following local road signs carefully.
Older campers participate in extended trips to places like Lake Placid, Boston, and Niagara Falls. These outings are part of a special training program for advanced participants.
