Circus World

Circus World was a theme park near Haines City in Florida that focused on circus performances and related attractions. The facility spread across a large site at the junction of two major highways and included multiple show rings, exhibition halls, and areas for live acts.

A renowned circus company opened the park in the mid-1970s as a winter home and training ground for their performers. The site changed ownership several times over the years and eventually closed permanently after roughly two decades of operation.

The facility contained an extensive collection of circus memorabilia, including vintage train cars and artifacts from the Barnum and Bailey legacy.

The park sat at a busy highway junction in central Florida and was easy to reach by car. Peak season fell during the winter months when performances ran regularly and visitor numbers were highest.

Planning documents included a multi-story hotel building shaped like an elephant that was meant to serve as a landmark for the park. This unusual construction project was never built and remained only on paper.
