The Mohammed Rahim Khan madrasa spans 62 meters by 50 meters, featuring a rectangular structure with a central courtyard surrounded by four iwans and corner towers.
Muhammad Rahim Bahadur Khan II commissioned this educational institution in 1876, marking the last major madrasa construction during the late 19th century in Khiva.
The madrasa combines religious education with architectural elements, including Balkhi-type domed student quarters and a dedicated mosque in the south wing.
Located opposite the Konya Ark citadel, the madrasa remains open to visitors interested in exploring its intricate vestibule and five-span entrance arcade.
The building contains specialized utility rooms and student living spaces, reflecting the comprehensive educational approach of traditional Islamic institutions.
