Tân Châu, District-level town in An Giang Province, Vietnam
The town extends over 175 square kilometers along the banks of the Mekong Delta, with settlements spread across both urban and agricultural areas.
Established in 1757, Tân Châu underwent administrative transformations before receiving town status in 2009, marking its evolution from a rural district.
Local artisans maintain the production of Lãnh Mỹ A silk, creating textiles colored with the dark pigments extracted from Diospyros mollis fruit.
The central market operates daily from 5:00 AM to 5:00 PM, offering sections for fresh produce, seafood, meats, clothing, and traditional crafts.
The underwater fish farms along the Mekong River house approximately 100,000 tilapia and catfish in individual cages beneath the water surface.
