Province of Navarra

The province of Navarra extends from the Pyrenees mountains in the north to Mediterranean landscapes in the south, covering 10,390 square kilometers.

Following the First Carlist War, Navarra transformed from an autonomous kingdom into a Spanish province through the Act of 1841, while maintaining certain legal privileges.

Traditional festivals throughout Navarra reflect a mix of Spanish and Basque influences, with celebrations combining religious ceremonies, agricultural customs, and folk music.

The province contains 272 municipalities connected by an extensive road network, with Pamplona serving as the administrative and economic center.

Navarra maintains its own tax system separate from the rest of Spain, collecting and managing taxes independently through an agreement called the Economic Agreement.
