Les Contamines-Montjoie / Hauteluce

Les Contamines-Montjoie is a ski resort in the Mont-Blanc range with around 100 kilometers of slopes spread across multiple elevations. The runs connect different valley sections and forested areas, with terrain for both beginners and experienced skiers.

The region started as a mountain farming area before becoming a ski destination in the 1900s. The resort joined the Evasion Mont-Blanc network, transforming from a small community into a connected winter sports destination.

The place grows from a mountain farming heritage visible in the villages and open meadows scattered across the slopes. Visitors pass through traditional settlements and see how the landscape has been shaped by centuries of pastoral life mixed with modern skiing.

The resort has around 25 ski lifts spread across the elevations, including gondolas and chairlifts to reach different sections. Beginner zones are clearly marked, making it straightforward to find suitable slopes for learning and practice.

A slalom stadium and family play zones are built into the resort, allowing visitors to watch racing courses or try competitive skiing. These facilities sit alongside regular ski runs, creating spaces for different ways to experience winter sports.
