Canada's Wonderland is an amusement park in Vaughan with 18 roller coasters and an attached water park called Splash Works. The facility spreads across a large site with different themed zones and rides for visitors of all ages.
The park opened on May 23, 1981, as the first major theme park project in Canada through a partnership between Taft Broadcasting and Great-West Life Assurance. Over the decades, the site changed ownership several times and expanded with additional ride areas.
The Kingswood Music Theatre section brings visitors together with live concerts and stage events throughout the year. Canada Day celebrations extend over several weeks with special programs that draw families from across the region.
The main season runs from late April through early September, with select weekends in fall and winter afterward. Season passes offer entry on all operating days and may include discounts within the park.
In 2019, the site recorded 3.9 million visitors, leading the ranking of most visited seasonal amusement parks in North America. This number shows how far audiences travel to experience the rides.
