Meidum Pyramid

The limestone structure rises 65 meters with its distinctive geometric form, displaying three visible tiers against the desert landscape near the Nile River.

Construction began during the reign of Pharaoh Huni in 2600 BCE and continued under Sneferu, marking a transition between step and smooth-sided pyramid designs.

The pyramid complex includes burial chambers, a mortuary temple, and mastaba tombs that reflect ancient Egyptian architectural and religious practices of the Old Kingdom.

Located 100 kilometers south of Cairo, the site receives fewer visitors than Giza pyramids, allowing extended time for exploration without crowds.

The partial collapse of its outer casing created its current tower-like appearance, revealing the internal construction methods of ancient Egyptian pyramids.
