Mosque of Sayyida Huriyya, Islamic shrine and mosque in Telt village, Beni Suef Governorate, Egypt.

The Mosque of Sayyida Huriyya stands beside the tomb of a revered woman and combines a shrine with a prayer house in Beni Suef Governorate. The structure displays traditional Egyptian Islamic architecture featuring domes and decorative elements that adorn both the interior and exterior.

Mohamed Bey Islam initiated construction of the building beside Sayyida Huriyya's grave, while his son Osman Bey later completed the work. The project reached completion during the early period of the 14th century according to the Islamic calendar.

The shrine is celebrated each year during Sha'ban month, when visitors gather for a major festival featuring tents, decorations, and Sufi rituals honoring Sayyida Huriyya's birth. This celebration brings together people who come to recognize the spiritual importance of this revered figure in the local community.

The shrine remains open throughout the year for prayers and community gatherings, with local officials regularly attending Friday prayers at the site. Visitors should dress modestly and observe the respectful conduct expected at Islamic sacred sites.

The inner walls are covered with intricate Arabic ornaments and inscriptions that honor the history of the revered woman after whom the shrine is named. These artistic details tell her story and reward visitors who take time to examine them closely.
