Red Pyramid, Egyptian pyramid in Dahshur, Egypt.

The Red Pyramid rises 104 meters above the desert floor with perfectly straight limestone walls meeting at a 43-degree angle to form a true pyramid shape.

Built around 2590 BCE under Pharaoh Sneferu, this monument marks the first successful construction of a smooth-sided pyramid in ancient Egyptian architecture.

The interior chambers of the Red Pyramid contain elaborate ceiling designs and architectural elements that demonstrate the advanced engineering capabilities of ancient Egyptian builders.

Visitors can enter the pyramid through a passage on the north face, descending 63 meters to explore three separate chambers connected by corridors.

The limestone blocks used in construction display a reddish tint due to iron oxide content, leading to the structure's current name.
